'Flip-flop frenzy'

Today's phone-rate bill story by Lucy Morgan and Steve Bousquet has the first estimate I've seen of the number of lobyyists at work on the bill this session -- 114.

The old pros bring out dark comparisons with the services tax debacle of 1987. "Ol' Flip Flop is a very hard horse to ride," says J.M. "Mac the knife" Stipanovich.

Senate president Jim King, meanwhile, says, let the courts deal with it, we got our own problems.

Troxler, for one, doesn't buy the-courts-will-make-this-right argument and urges readers to write their legislators.
