The mighty Quinn
Another newspaper site listens to the suits in the marketing dept and imposes a registration system on its site. This time it's the Miami Herald.
The main reason I all but stopped using the IE browser in favor of Firefox is that Firefox has a nifty password management feature that IE lacks. It is just not possible to deal with the all passwords and sign-ins I need perform just to read basic stuff. It's gotten very annoying.
And to register you always have to answer some marketing genius' stupid questionnaire. Usually I tell them I'm Quinn DeEskimo, a 104-year-old ethnically ambiguous male who lives at 800 Your Street, Anytown, FL 32118. (386) 555-5555. Some places won't accept the age 104, so I bring it down to 99. Look for stories about the increasing average age of Net users!
