Sometimes the ballpark takes you out

There's not enough money for schools, the proposals for funding universal pre-K are a joke, but why not throw $2 million in tax breaks to the Florida Marlins. Jeb rather likea the idea. It's not like he hears many proposals for subsidizing private businesses with tax dollars that he doesn't like.

Despite the Marlins World Series win, folks have been unenthusiastic about new tax breaks for Big Sports given their sad history in Florida. (See the FlaBlog Vault of Memory from last Oct. and here and this newly timely Hiaasen column.
