QU poll

The Quinnipiac Poll puts the race at 49/41/5 Bush/Kerry/Nader. Margin o' error: 3.4 percent. (The CNN/USA TODAY poll of likely voters puts it at 49/46/2, margin o' error: 4)

Gov. Bush's handling of hurricane duties have booted his approval rating from 45 percent in August to a remarkable 65 percent. The QU pollers also see a hurricane bounce for Pres. Bush after Ivan, something that didn't happen in the previous two storms.

Strangely, the approval rating for the Legislature, which hasn't met since spring, also went to to 51 percent, up from a down-in-the-celler 39 percent last June. I guess the longer they don't meet, the more we like them.
