Somebody Smith, I think he's a Dem

Rod Smith counts himself in. So who is this Rod Smith guy, anyway?

Senator Smith was my trial practice professor at UF law in the fall of 03. I must say, if I were a democrat (and thankfully I'm not), Senator Smith would be my first choice. He tows the line on most democratic issues, but has an opportunity to attract the moderate or conservative democrats (and republicans too). His stint as state attorney included the prosecution of Danny Rallings (sp?). Can you say tough on crime??? He once said something during my trial practice class that embodies the sentiment missing from so many dems these days. He noted that this is greatest country on the planet, and he will believe that until people start swimming across the Florida straits away from Florida instead of towards it.

Smith is energetic and charismatic. There's no other candidate that will come close him.

But, alas, the dems will probably nominate the most liberal among them...assuring another 4 years under Republican leadership (thankfully).
