What he knew before the invasion
Former Sen. Bob Graham writes in the normally reliably neo-con Washington Post opinion pages about how he came to doubt the administration's case that Saddam Hussein had WMDs and why he voted against the war resolution.
From my advantaged position, (former chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence) I had earlier concluded that a war with Iraq would be a distraction from the successful and expeditious completion of our aims in Afghanistan. Now I had come to question whether the White House was telling the truth -- or even had an interest in knowing the truth.
On Oct. 11, I voted no on the resolution to give the president authority to go to war against Iraq. I was able to apply caveat emptor. Most of my colleagues could not.

This just goes to show that leaders from both parties are idiots. Iraq distracting us from Afghanistan? Who cares? Neither country is a threat to national security and never has been. Meanwhile, North Korea and Iran are building nukes and aren't exactly pro-America.
