Surprise appointment

I already praised Gov. Elect Charlie Crist for picking an experienced supervisor of elections as secretary of state, now I'm going to have praise him again for picking a Democrat, the respected former Attorney General Bob Butterworth as head of DCF. Or as it is usually called on second reference, "the troubled state agency." An outstanding choice and one that sends the messages that he takes DCF's problems seriously and that he can be nonpartisan on more than a symbolic level.

Crist isn't even governor yet, and I'm already having trouble adjusting.

I still think he's wrong about the FCATs. I hope he comes to his senses and overhauls it.
