Primary fallout
A number of surprises in yesterday's elections:
+ The police unions took down State Attorney John Tanner.
+ A low-turnout primary, the winner-take-all primary system and token opposition in the general election combine to elect Dwayne Taylor to the Florida House with only 2,085 votes.
+ US Rep. Ric Keller wins his Republican primary against an underfunded crank candidate with a DUI convition -- but only by 6 points. Some think this suggests, well, a certain amount of weakness going into the general election. Meanwhile, the Dems are surprised at the win of Alan Grayson.
+ And in Oak Hill, mayors go mana a mano and belly a belly. Both end up in the hospital.

Recently linked you to our site, as you have an interesting Florida blog. As to the House Dist. 8 race, We suspect that Grayson will lose. Stuart was the more plausible Democrat in this GOP leaning seat. Grayson is too liberal and grating. Rep. Keller will probably retain this seat despite making some missteps with conservatives.

Despite mounting corruption complaints against the Daytona Beach City Commission, including a failing grade in a state audit that revealed multiple ethics violations and widespread misuse of taxpayers funds, Commissioner Dwayne Taylor is running for election to the Florida House of Representatives.
Taylor's record at the City Commission is abysmal, he has approved every measure that raised the tax burden of Daytona Beach citizens while awarding millions of dollars to multi-millionaire campaign contributors and friends to fund various pet projects and personal hobbies. This waste is one of the main reasons for the current financial crisis the city is undergoing.

Taylor's record at the City Commission is abysmal, he has approved every measure that raised the tax burden of Daytona Beach citizens while awarding millions of dollars to multi-millionaire campaign contributors and friends to fund various pet projects and personal hobbies. This waste is one of the main reasons for the current financial crisis the city is undergoing.
